Changes All Around

Hey Girls,
On Friday I registered for my very last semester of my undergrad at UNI. So crazy. As of December 2008 I will be a college graduate with a degree in Biology. Scary. So the next step? It all depends on one day. One day. August 1st. That day I take my DAT. If I get 17's on every section then I'm good to go for the next four years of my life. If I don't.... It all depends on one day. Super scary. We have 3 weeks of class left at UNI. Then finals week, then SUMMER! Guess what I'm doing all summer? Preparing for August 1st. It's crazy that we're all finally at that point. Huge decisions have to be made that will affect the rest of our lives. I don't feel ready. Sarah, I'm with you. Change is so scary. I don't like it at all. But unlike most, I have a very strict path laid out for me. I don't get to choose the next steps. I just have to follow the checklist. My biggest check is coming up. Very soon. Needless to say I'm freaking out as well. That's the problem when there is no Plan B. There's always only been Plan A. When did we grow up? I don't remember that day. But here we are. Here's to being an adult.

Changes

It's not that I don't see the benefits of change, or the inevitableness (is that a word?) of it. It's just that I don't like change. At all. And it's happening all around me!

I live with three seniors right now- they are by far my closest friends I've met here at Drake- and they are all graduating in a couple of weeks and leaving me! One of my roommates is getting married in August, another is practically in love and moving back to Colorado, and the third has more plans than I do, so who knows where she'll end up. It is kind of overwhelming to think about next year. I'm already sick to my stomach because my life seems to be lacking direction right now in terms of the future. You guys understand, I'm sure.

I'm glad that worked! It was so good to talk to you today. Let's do that more often. OK. UPDATE TIME! Everyone has to give a life update in the next week or I'll send Diane's dog after you. Trust me you don't want that to happen. OK. GO!!

I Hate School!!

Hey Girls~
So my life is really boring right now but I'll give you an update anyway. My 18 credits of science are definitely kicking my butt right now!! I had class today from 8-11 then 1-4. In my Organic lab today (the 1-4 class) I was two hours into my experiment and I went to cool down my flask in some water. Instead of holding onto it like I was supposed to I set it down and walked away. When I came back it had fallen over and dumped ALL of my product out. Argh!!! I almost started bawling but the girl that works next to me did a good job of keeping the professor away so I could clean it up and start over without him giving me crap. Things with Alex are great! We are excited to spend our first Valentines Day together in a couple weeks. Unfortunately I have 4 tests that week so we're going to do something on the weekend. I'll let you know how that goes. He usually has very good surprises!! Oh yea, and I WANT IT TO BE SUMMER!!! That's all I have to say. I still don't know what I'm going to do... Probably get a job and study for the DAT. Any suggestions? What can you see me doing? Deb - Sorry about the internship thing not working out! Let us know if anything else comes up! Sarah - Nice job with your basketball team beating ours. You guys are good : D Rach - I'm coming to Ames soonish. I'll keep you posted.

Oh yeah. I almost forgot. I MET ALEX'S ENTIRE FAMILY THIS PAST WEEKEND! And when I say entire, I mean entire! Not just uncles and aunts, but uncles and aunts cousins. Not just grandma and grandpa, but grandmas sisters. !!!! Needless to say it was stressful but they ended up giving Alex their blessing. He has some cool cousins so it was pretty fun. We played Dutch Blitz a lot. Anyways, back to homeword. I love love love you girls!

Hey friends.

So you all have been back at school for one/two weeks now, but I have not even started school yet! I'll start back up on Tuesday. I'm actually really really excited! A tough schedule, but really good, interesting classes.

Deb- I'm so sorry that you didn't get that internship! I was really happy for you that you were going to study abroad this summer. Have you ever thought of trying to find an internship in Spain for over the summer? Or, maybe taking a year off after school to go to Spain?

Question: where do you guys see yourselves in 10 years?

hey girls, megg great idea for the group. it's good to keep in touch with one another especially for me because i live so far away. well i have been in school for two weeks and i already have lot and lots of work. i didn't get my internship so i won't be going to spain for the summer, instead i'll be here working my butt off. anything new with anyone???

2008! A Resolution....

Girls ~

I decided a good resolution for this year would be to BLOG MORE!! I think a good goal for everyone would be 2-3 entries a month. Complete with pictures and stories about what's going on in our lives. I want to know all the details of what's going on with you girls!! Post pictures, stories, anything you want! I love you three and had so much fun with you this break!

If you could see me now...

Well guys, I survived getting all four of my wisdom teeth out. But right now I must admit I look pretty ridiculous. Every once in awhile I have this ice pack that I wrap around my mouth with an ACE bandage. Its hilarious looking, actually. Rachel and Megg, you might get to see this wonder, but Deb, I'll post a picture for you to laugh at later.
